Entertainer, Dale Obrochta Helps Library Attract Families to Library.

Public libraries are struggling to get families involved with kids’ programs. Highwood Public Library is using entertainment to overcome this problem.

Orland Hills, March 8, 2016: Highwood Public Library presents a family-friendly balloon show, Art of Inflation, on Saturday, April 2.  This special event is designed to attract local families to the library. Art of Inflation is a choreographed balloon show that twists comedy, art, music, creativity, and audience participation into a unique family show. The show starts at 1:30 PM in the library at 102 Highwood Ave, Highwood, IL 60040. Please RSVP with the library Youth Service Department – (847) 432-5450.

Although the library offers many resources for kids, they are constantly trying to fill kids’ programs. Parents who use the library love its resources and are surprised to hear that more residents do not take advantage of the free services. To create awareness of the kids’ programs, the Youth Service Department has a special community event focused on families. “It’s all about getting the word out about all the great kids’ programs we offer here at the library,” says Marie Sanramon, Youth Service Department.

The library chose Art of Inflation for its ability to draw large crowds. “I love working with community libraries and entertaining for their families,” says Dale Obrochta, professional balloon entertainer. “Librarys’ audiences appreciate a good show, and the smiles on the kids’ faces are precious to see,” Obrochta said.

Art of Inflation is a unique experience for the audience. They watch colorful 4-foot long balloons twirl around and transform into a work of art before their very eyes, captivating the imagination of young and old alike. Two five-foot balloon sculptures are made during the show, and afterward, the audience is encouraged to come close and take pictures with the balloon designs.

The Highwood Public Library audience will see a special black light act that gets the kids screaming “cool” while the parents watch in amazement.

Art of Inflation is the brainstorm of Obrochta. Dale incorporates thirty years of balloon-twisting knowledge into his show. He started performing in 1986 and has been a visual balloon interpreter for TEDxNaperville; he has appeared on WGN & WLS TV and performed for numerous schools and libraries in Illinois.

The Highwood Public Library will be offering more kids’ programs this season and is working hard to support the community’s needs.
