The following is a review of the book How to Make 50,000 a Year or More as a Balloon Artist. This review is not a reflection of the artist, but a review of the material presented in the book.
How to Make 50,000 a Year or More as a Balloon Artist by Steve (Rhino) Ulery, my first impression of this book was its name. It’s a catchy phrase How to Make 50,000 a Year or More as a Balloon Artist grabs the attention of the reader. Its name alone makes you think this is a step-by-step how to book. But once you open the 48 page book you quickly see how it lacks any in-depth explanations on how to achieve these goals. It left me questioning, “Is this book worth anything?”
The book gives a basic scenario that reads more like a synopsis of a chapter. Many of the topics are one page which allows a reader to completely skim the book in one sitting. Lacking from the book is real detail. I find a book that gives examples, testimonials and insight on how to produce the marketing material beneficial. Sadly, this book leaves this out. This book is more for a creative person to take a raw idea and develop it into a successful marketing program.
The merits of the book are broad marketing ideas. If you’re a beginner, you will find these ideas lacking in presentation and explanations may leave you questioning what are the dos and don’ts? What wisdom I did find was scattered in the book, but could quickly be over-looked based on the content size. This book is more about ideas on how to market your balloon business and not a step-by-step how to book.
This is my opinion of this book. If your opinion is, right-on or no-way with my rating, you can cast your vote by clicking on the stars above my name. Objective criticism is accepted, as long as, it is not abrasive, rude or demeaning.
