Economy is tight, people aren't buying - is this happening to you?  Are you checking your phone to make sure it's still works?  It's easy to give up and rollover and die, but it hard to fight and keep your sprites inflated.  Are you seeking out new people to help you?  Hanging out with people not working doesn't help you mentally or spiritually.

If you need help... let's brainstorm to get you back on track.  BUT be prepared for a battle, new material, new outlook, new thinking....its a new economy and new ideas is what going to keep you in business.

I'm willing to help

I hear you Brother Dale, It is hard but I fell you must not go back to old habits as well.
I find most people are not doing anything, One customer clamed that she was going to take the party to that cheesy mouse place and that they twist balloon swords for the kids there....
It is hard to fight this type of thinking but have the faith it will not last to long..

Hi Bob

First lets not go back to old habit, lets make new ones.  I did some research on Belvidere, IL and here is a way to market to new customers.

First - Create a 1 page document that out lines your service (no ego) just the benefits of you as an entertainer.

Second - go to Zillow.com and enter your city, state then select house over $125,000-$300,000 - 3 bedrooms, sold in the last year.

Third - Look at the listing, make a mailing to these people.  The are financially sound, plus multiple rooms may mean kids.

Fourth - Look at the demographics - what is around these areas - Daycare's, restaurants - what business are there.  These are booming areas and should be consider your hunting grounds.

Fifth - Make a mailing to these people.

Finally - Look at surrounding areas and look for patterns.  Businesses, daycare's, schools or any business that will be growing because of the new addition / families.  Focus on where people are buying, because they just may be eating at restaurant close to home.

This is just one of the many ways to market in a bad economy and till find customers without cutting prices.  Wink

Let me know if  you do this and how it turns out.

Dale

Bob

Benefits -  Smiles on kids faces, punctual, professional, kid friendly, easy to work with, experienced, control the party, are some some of the many things one can befit by hiring you.   Ask yourself, if I'm hiring an entertainer for my party what would give me peace of mind?  Making 20,000 different balloon animals, producer of DVD's or winning awards is not a benefit to a parent looking to hire you for an event - what they are concerned about is if you showing up on time, responding to inquires and making kids happy... laslyt is price, but that will never be on your marketing sheet.  These are the types benefits that should be highlighted.  If you give them the benefits they are looking for they will pay your price. Wink
