Hi my name's Matt I'm xx ( under 21 ) and I've been making balloons for 4 and half years now and I'm quite good (or so i think ) Anyways I have a party to do on Satuday not my first but I've only done a few and I was wondering if you guys had any ideas on (it's a boys pary and mainly want swords and hats and guns but also sports stuff) say basketball balloons or soccerballs or anything that might be easy yet cool in a sense

Hi Matt

You could try making a simple hat that has a hoop on top and a round balloon for a basketball or make a hat that has a goal post with a football.  In the Kids Stuff section are instructions on how to make a baseball cap.  That’s all I have for now.  http://www.mbd2.com/KidsStuff/CubsCap.htm - www.mbd2.com/KidsStuff/CubsCap.htm

hi matt (and Dale!) Generally I just make loads of swords, flowers and simple hats (I do make other stuff if requested!) You will probably find yourself swamped and you want to make things that are quick and simple. I always make up a few swords before I go to the party - so I have something to give out while everyone is waiting

Um. . .Hi everyone i'm dunqme from Singapore i'm 18 this year, started ballon making last year when my friend needed helpers to help out for a party. Ever since i've been doing parties for kids regularly over the weekends.

There was once a party i went to, the birthday boy wanted me to make a dinosaur(T-rex) for him but i was unable, so ever since i've been trying to search the web for more ideas to make more variety.

I find of all sites Dale's to be the most useful so i signed up for the newsletter thanks for the frequent updates but sometimes i do find the website hard to navigate and the pictures do take quite some time to load (cable 256k)

Hi Dunqme – Thank you for the nice words.  Download time is always a concern to me.  Over the past year, I have been adding more graphics to the page assuming everyone’s download speed was okay.  What pages take the longest to download?  I can fix them for better viewing.

Balloon instructions – If you searched the web you have come to see that other entertainers have some instructions.  The difference is that my instructions were written specifically for kids.  I try to add more instructions every couple of months, but this is time consuming.  I would recommend instead of looking all over the net, consider buying Captain Visual’s books, Merlins Great Balloons or the Palloncini’s books.  These books have great ideas on balloon twisting and shapes, plus they have a lot of step-by-step pictures.

You can see a preview of the books at http http://www.mbd2.com/BookPreview/bookpreviewindex.htm">://www .mbd2.com/BookPreview/bookpreviewindex.htm

General rule of thumb for upl;oading photos is to make them jpg extensions and that they are 72dpi. Anything more than that would make it too large to upload and cause the page to take forever to load in. Just remember not to put too many pictures on one page because that will cause it to take forever to load in. I learned this the hard way!

Hello All!!
I made a Harry Potter Balloon on the weekend for a book release party that I was hired to work at. It turned out quite well...I put a balloon owl on his shoulder and a wand in his hand. I will post the pictures as soon as the film is developed and put on disc. It took me about half an hour to make, but I did it at one of my Farmer's Markets and drew a small crowd while I was building it.
This lady comes up to me and is organizing a kid's birthday party with Harry Potter being the theme and she wants to deliver the invitations in the talons of owls....turned out to be a pretty cool contract!!!

Just thought I would share!!

Congrats Dan on the big contract. I am really impressed. I really think it's cool to deliver invitation using owl - Just like they do in Secret Chambers story.

And dunqme, I from S'pore too. Maybe we can get together sometime and work out something and have some fun or start a network where we can pass deals around whenever we have too much to handle especially on a weekend. Cheers!
