Happy Holiday’s

The holiday season is quickly approaching and I, like most entertainers,
finding it difficult to juggle family and business responsibilities. But
this is nothing new for the seasoned entertainer to run themselves ragged
trying to keep up with the demand of the season. Family and friends
understand and pardon our absence from holiday events. As I scurry from
one holiday event to another trying to avoid slow-moving traffic I can
only think how nice it will be in January when I can sit back and do
nothing. So before this holiday season flies by in a wink of an eye.
I would like to wish you a Happy Holiday.
If attending an event that has an entertainer, remember this is a stressful
time of year for them. So offer them a big smile, a thank you and wish
them and theirs a very Happy Holiday. A little cheer can go a long
way on those frustrating nights when time, weather and holiday shoppers
can plague an entertainer’s flight.
So spread the word to all to hear, Happy Holiday’s from me to you
and all that care.

In 2005 I started the mbd2.com member of the month. One member has the
distinct honor of not only being the first Member of the Month, but also
the first to receive the honor twice… Patrick van de Ven has been
a balloon artist who has shared his designs with the mbd2.com forum.
Patrick’s designs have been original and inspiring to the whole
balloon twisting community. Congratulations Patrick on becoming November’s

Picking up the Spare Birthday Party
----------------
I like it when I can pick up parties close to home, especially with the
increase in gas prices. Here is a tip on how to pickup the spare birthday
party close to home.
If you look around your city and neighboring cities you will observe
that you have local bowling alleys. Bowling alleys have birthday party
packs. These bowling packages are typically one and a half hours
bowling and an hour in the party room. Many times parents will ask the
bowling alley if they can recommend or have suggestion for additional
entertainment. Have the bowling alley recommend your services.
Stop in at your local bowling alleys and introduce yourself and your
services to the party manager. Bring a balloon design as a gift
with a stack of business cards. Written on the back of your business
card is the name of the bowling alley and a party discount. Make sure
you include “discount only valid for parties at XYZ bowling alley”.
Give the cards to the party manager and let them know that you will give
the bowling alley customers a discount if they book the party at their
facilities. If things go right, you will be able to pickup a spare
birthday party from time to time. Do enough events at the bowling alley
you can work out an arrangement with management to work the bowling alley
on special family nights. Who knows, you may even get a perfect game
and get a steady birthday party business out of the bowling alley. So
check out your local bowling alleys for “spare work”.
