Hearts a plentiful is the mbd2.com website. Yes, it’s Valentines
in February, so red hearts are the theme. I have updated the main page,
kids stuff, the gallery, and the mbd2.com balloon jam forum, plus carried
this theme into the balloon jam calendar.

* Forum Upgrade *
The upgrades to the mbd2.com forum are now complete. I have upgraded the
forum form version 7.01 through 7.7. The new improvements have decreased
load time, improved security, and have added some internal enhancements.
I fixed the poll bars to show
colored bars, along with fixing the upload pictures button. One problem
does exist in the watch topic, which I have not found the code reference,
but if you click on the mbd2.com forum link, it takes you to an old test
site. I just have to find the code, quick fix, but low priority.
* Balloon Jam Counter *
I have also improved the Balloon Jam Calendar layout. The new layout has
a bigger balloon jam count number, which makes it easier to read. I am
considering adding another feature to the calendar, which would show future
balloon jams, ie jams that happen next month. What are your thoughts about

Another improvement to the forum has been a modification to the 10 Newest
Post. Previously the list would only have a link to the topic, now I have
added a mouse over effect that will display who posted the message. This
way, you can quickly check out who posted the messaged, prior to clicking

beginning of the month. These Jams are free and looking for entertainers

New Beginners Pump

If you have never used an electronic pump then the Master Blaster is a
good place to start. Has some noise, not excessively loud (about average
pump sound), weight is average 7 lbs, designed for table use not wearing,
will inflate enough balloons for an average birthday party easily. Over

Have you been shocking people lately? Literally, have you been giving
electric shocks when giving out a balloon? Well here are a couple of tricks
to avoid shocking your audience.
Clothing, polyester and rayon
are nice shiny clothing, but in a dry air environment can cause tremendous
static electricity buildup. Use Static Guard and spray your clothing and
balloon bag. DO NOT SPRAY BALLOONS! This is a chemical you don’t
what to put in your mouth!
Cotton clothing, in my experience
produces the lowest electrical buildup, but most restaurants and halls
have nylon carpeting, which helps produce static electricity. Thus wearing
cotton clothes doesn’t solve the problem totally. Spraying your clothes
with Static Guard reduces static buildup from the carpeting. Not sure
how this stuff works, but it does.
Static Sheets – Right now
if you were to look in my balloon bag, in between the columns of balloons
you would find two Static Sheets. These static sheets are the same sheets
you use in a laundry dryer. Because the air is so dry in January through
February, I place a Static Sheet in my balloon bag. The sheet helps reduce
the static buildup. I make sure the sheets are not near the nozzle of
the balloons. I use the Twist’em Up deluxe bag and have all my balloons
standing vertically, nozzle up. Again, this is a chemical sheet and I
would not recommend you eating the chemicals.

Boy, have things changed. When I first started sending out update notices,
it was just a couple of line saying “hey, new pictures at...”,
but this site has grown bigger, and bigger, and with cooler stuff. As
a result, the two-line email has now gone to the ezine format. I have
now started archive these messages and will have a link off the update
