Now Accepting Tips

I was thinking, which normally scares my wife, about how so many people request a tip. It was nation news when a coffee chain employee placed a cup on the counter with the words "TIP". The amazing thing was they received tips. I realize we tip for services that we like or when we appreciate someone's hard work, we give them a tip. In some cases we do it automatically. Go to your favorite restaurant and you will tip the waitress every time. We tip the Vela a couple of bucks just for getting the car, or the bartender at a wedding just for handing us a drink. That is when I came up with this idea, Now Accepting Tips, yes that is correct; if you would like to tip me for all my hard work, long hours of programming, creative designs, now you can. I have setup in the mbd2.com store a section call Tips. You can go to the store and choose what size tip you would like to give. You can tip as often as you like, or in combinations $5 and $10 tip or choose one of the selected tips. I think the information and entertainment I have provided has been more enjoyable then some restaurant meals, waits for Vela, or even the uneventful wedding bartender. So, in advance thanks for the tip! ;-)

Keyboard Shortcuts -- Now when you are describing how to make a balloon design, simply type -b and the word bubble will appear. You will find the keyboard shortcuts in a scrolling window in the user box, right hand side of the screen or in the help, located in the message frame, bottom right corner.

I have slowly been working on improving the help feature, so as new items are added to the chat room, help documentation will increase.

Font Type and Size - I have added the ability to change font size and type, by a simple dropdown selection in the message frame. Simply select the font, size, color and type the setting will stay for each message. Default font size is 12 pt.

Automatic Login - The chat room is for registered members and when you're login to the mbd2.com forum you will automatically have access to the chat room. Now when you click on chat, it will automatically enter your name into the chat login box. Just click login and you ready to chat.

Rules & Etiquette - As the forum grows and more and more people are using the chat room, I felt we need to have some basic Rules & Etiquette procedures. These are found at the top of the chat room when you are login to the chat.

Lastly, on the main forum page is an active frame that will show who's in the chat room and what room they are chatting in. Too many people were logging in and missing each other.

Entertainers Tip 27 -

I'm lucky that I have a successful website and balloon forum where I have a chance to discuss/email many new and veteran entertainers. I am always amazed on what people are doing with there entertainment business, how they are running it, tax write-offs, marketing, how they perceive the industry. I keep learning form everyone. That's me, I like to learn.

I'm just amazed on how many people know it all. We all have met this person; they have done it all and been successful at doing everything. I always ask myself this question… if you're so successful why are you here, with me? Why are you not on TV or movies, or so rich that I would have to go thru bodyguards to get to you? But then I realize it's there ego talking -- I ignore most of what they say. But I love talking with people who are just starting out. These people can energize even the most experienced person. They look at the business with new eyes the see opportunity everywhere. They keep us on our toes. I know this just form watching other people's website grows; I keep improving to stay ahead. This should be true when it comes to entertainment business. I'm improving, I now have my Thank You card, mass produced instead of printing them one-by-one. Need to improve business relationships, I have work on new PR material, and still none of this and all of this has to do with entertainment. Keep in mind; unless you are paying a PR company to promote you, you have to do it. Unless you have hired a secretary, you need to keep your appointments current. Unless you have a maid, assistant, mechanic, an accountant, a graphics designer, you will have to be all these people.

This is where entertainment becomes business! I have heard many entertainers say that's too much work. And you know what? They are here today and gone tomorrow. Twenty years from now, if there still here, you will see them doing the same events over and over again. What happen to the person improving there business skills? Look for them at the big venues. Entertainment is 90% business, 10% entertainment. You have to work many hours just to get that 1 hour job. Learn to love the business as much as the entertainment and your business will grow too!

Boy, have things changed.
