= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Chicago Balloon Jam I happy to announce one of the founders of balloon entertainers in Chicago, Roger Siegel, will attend. Roger has over 35+ years experience in balloon entertaining. I have asked that he bring is portfolio along with him. It is really cool to see Bugs Bunny, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, and cornucopia, flowers, balloon centerpiece all done before Qualatex was the balloon entertainers balloon. I have worked with Roger for about 10 years now and I am still amazed at the number of entertainers, jugglers, magicians, clowns, variety acts, and balloon entertainers who have worked with Roger. I am still working on another legion of entertaining Mr. “B” The Prince of Jugglers, Mr. Paul Bachman. Paul is a true historian when it comes to juggling. All I can say about Paul is he’s a great entertainer, very well respected in the juggling world, a very funny and talent entertainer who loves to work with other entertainers. Paul has 35+ years of entertainer and just his knowledge of the entertainment business is educational and fun to be around.
Who should attend? This is open to professional entertainers, balloon hobbyist, clowns, jugglers, and magicians. Supplies, you bring what you want to use, 260’s, 350’s, 160’s, rounds, rubber gloves. Yes, some entertainer use rubber gloves to make there creations. Cost – Free….BUT, I would encourage you to purchase something for the restaurant that is sponsoring this event. Thanks Subject Balloon Jam Email dale@mbd2.com = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Entertainers Tip 7 I have a couple of people ask me “’White Pen Work’ on yours and many other balloon sites. What is it that you use for this effect (whites of eyes, diapers on babies, et cetera), and where can I get one?” It has been a while since I have used the White Paint Markers (Delco Makers) so I went out and bought a couple white markers to see if they have improved. First, if you have ever used a paint marker the first thing you need to do is shake the marker. This will get the paint flowing in side the pen. Secondly, you have to press the tip of the pen down. This causes a little rode to compress back into the pen, thus letting ink flow. I have never been a big fan of this type pens for a couple of reasons. Reason 1, I ways had the fear that the balloon was going to break when pushing the tip down to get the pain to flow. Happens very rarely, but – still a fear. Reason 2, Shaking of the pen. I feel strange standing in front of people shaking my hand up and down just to get the paint to start to flow. Reason 3, I have never become comfortable with the hole design of the paint markers. I am accustom to using markers, not paint markers. I FOUND A WHITE MARKER that is a MARKER. In my quest to find a new white marker I stumbled a cross a new company call Galaxy Markers. It looks like a marker, it has a felt tip like a marker, and it write on a balloon like a Sharpie Marker. This encouraged me to contact with the manufacture and they are sending me out samples of these markers for me to test on balloons. If you do a simple teddy bear, add white eyes with a blue pupil, people will comment – “I’ve never seen anybody use white for the eyes”. You just impressed your customer/client and you have just become the best balloon entertainer in there eyes. Use white on dark balloon, for teeth, fangs, and accent shadowing. This little white marker will make you balloon animal’s standout and be recognized. Make your normal balloon animals and the white will add a lot to the look; and after all, the name of the game is to impress the customer/client, so they will hire you for more balloon work.
