Chicago Balloon Jam

What’s a Balloon Jam you ask? A Balloon Jam is were balloon entertainers, beginners, intermediate, and advance twister get together and share ideas, designs, and contacts.

Who should attend? This is open to professional entertainers, balloon hobbyist, clowns, jugglers, and magicians.

Supplies, you bring what you want to use, 260’s, 350’s, 160’s, rounds, rubber gloves. Yes, some entertainer use rubber gloves to make there creations.

Cost – Free….BUT, I would encourage you to purchase something for the restaurant that is sponsoring this event. Lindy's Chili/Gertie's Ice Cream.

It’s been a couple of years since I have taught a balloon class, but everyone keeps telling me “Let me know when you’re going to have a class”. Well here it is

November 14, 2002 at Lindy's Chili/Gertie's Ice Cream before the Chicago Balloon Jam from 2:30-5:30, cost $75.00 all supplies are included.

Business Cards

When I graduated from college, I started my own computer consulting company, DEO Consulting, Inc, which like any new businessperson went out and had business cards produced. 500 hundred cards to start. I would meet new business associated and I would hand them a card. My father a old-time salesmen would look at me a say, “What are saving those card for, give them a couple”. Hey, these cards cost me money, I just can’t give them away to anybody. He looked at me and said “What! How do you think your business is going to grow” Word of mouth, I told him. My father looked at me and said “Won’t it be better if they could pass on a business card”? Then it hit me what he was saying, just don’t give out one card but a couple of cards.

Since that day, I usually hand out two or three cards at once and I tell the person that here’s my card, and I have given you extra cards for a friend or just put your gum in latter. The customer laughs and follows up with I have a friend so-and-so is having an event; I’ll pass your card on.

Now my only problem is keeping enough business card on me.

Boy, have things changed. When I first started sending out update notices, it was just a couple of line saying “hey, new pictures at...”, but this site is grown bigger, and bigger, with more cooler stuff. As a result, the two-line email has now gone to the ezine format. I have now started archive these messages and will have a link off the update notice form and at the end of the email.
