and Balloons” I have been previewing a book that deals with the business of balloon entertainer. The book is by Jimmy Leo a seasoned professional entertainer. The book I feel has some good material for beginners and good for the veteran twister to retool some of there marketing tricks. Inflate 7 260 balloons leaving a 5 inch tail. Inflate the 350 balloon halfway. Push the air to the end of the 350. This is the top of the Bee Hive. Take one of the 260 balloons and wrap it around the 350 balloon (opposite end of the nozzle). Wrap the nozzle around the 260 balloon; Thus, creating a loop. This makes one 260-balloon ring wrapped around 350 balloons. Remove the excess 260 balloon. Take the second balloon and wrap it around the 350, but make it 1” bigger then the first balloon. The balloon will slowly get wider or bigger. The trick is to use Rubber Cement to glue each ring together. Simple smear on a light amount of rubber cement round the second ring and press it up against the first ring. This process in continued for 2 more rings. Rings 3 & 4, rings 4 and 5 are the same size, ring 6 and 7 are smaller. **** NOTE **** Once you know how big the bee hive is going to be, you can tie off the 350 making it smaller and removing the excess balloon. When using Rubber Cement, be careful not to apply to much. Too much cement will eat through the balloon. Appling multiple lays may break the balloon. Try to make one even THIN layer of cement. It will take practice, but it will be worth it in the end. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Entertainers Tip 3 When I learn a new animal or character, I tell the customer that I have a new balloon creation and would they be interested in that, or do they have something the want instead? 80% of the time the will ask for the new creation. This gives me practice, if the balloon breaks – oh well, its’ new, and lastly - others will see that balloon and request it. Thus giving me more practice. This is how I started doing the Alien.
