KANE COUNTY FAMILY RIBFEST
PRODUCES TOP ENTERTAINMENT, FOOD, FUN AND MORE!

The Kane County Family Ribfest, August 23-26, at the Kane County Events Center, Geneva, features national award winning ribbers: Johnson’s BBQ (Virginia), Cowboys BBQ (Texas), Smokin’ Joes Ribs (Ohio), Carolina Rib King (South Carolina), Howling Coyote (Illinois), Stump & Sons (Georgia), Pork & Beans (Florida) and more. While it is the 2nd Annual Ribfest at the Events Center, prominent Chicago-based event producers, Onesti Entertainment Corporation is partnering with the Kane County Forest Preserve for this year’s extravaganza.  Hours are: from 5pm-11pm, Thursday and Friday; 12 noon-11pm, Saturday; and 12 noon-9pm, Sunday.

In addition to the great food, the musical entertainment line-up includes*:
Thursday, August 23 Deluxury (7pm) and Starship with Mickey Thomas (9pm
Friday, August 24 Off Broadway (7pm) and Foghat (9pm)
Saturday, August 25 Inside Elfstrom Stadium, WJMK Oldies 104.3 Summer Jam featuring: American English (Beatles Tribute) at (2pm), The Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards (3:45pm), and The Doobie Brothers (6:00pm)***, - and, outside the Stadium - The Coyotes (3:30pm and in between Stadium acts) and Infinity (8pm);
Sunday, August 26 Bopology (3pm), Deja Vu (5pm) and John Waite (7:30pm).  A  variety of popular local bands will be featured throughout the event.

 
Family activities at the Ribfest include: carnival rides, jugglers, stilt-walkers, game shows, puppeteers, petting zoo, pony rides, family sing-along, clowns, magicians, P&G Speedway Micro-Reality Stock Car Racing, crafts, face painting and a popular local balloonist, “Dale The Magical Balloon Dude.”  A complete entertainment schedule is attached.

“Our goal has been to improve upon the success of last year,” states AnnMarie Fauske, Kane County Event Center.  “The entertainment is bigger and well-rounded, the family focus is there, and affordability is being addressed. Food and beverage prices will be lower than last year, which was one of our biggest concerns.”

*Tickets to the Ribfest are $2 for gate admission and include all Ribfest musical entertainment only. Children 12 and under free for the Ribfest. ***On Saturday, August 25 from 2pm- 8pm, WJMK’s 104.3 Summer Jam will take place inside Elfstrom Stadium, adjacent to the Ribfest.  Tickets to the Summer Jam portion are $9, $19 and $25 and are available at WJMK.com, Tickets.com, by calling 1-800-955-5566 or at Sears Ticket.com outlet locations.  Pre-purchased Summer Jam tickets allow free entry to the Ribfest.  Patrons wishing to attend the Ribfest only during those hours will enjoy a full lineup of entertainment as listed on the attached program.  A parking fee of $3 will be charged. Free remote parking with shuttle service may be available on Saturday, from 3pm - 11pm at the Charlestowne Mall, Rt. 64 and Kirk Road, St. Charles.  Portions of proceeds will benefit the charitable efforts of Mother’s Clubs of Kane County.
